Stained glass at Mary Immaculate

Stained glass windows from the middle ages onward provided "illumination" to the simple believer, and were thought of as the "biblia pauperum" -- the poor man's Bible. When the majority of the faithful could not read, the images provided a way for them to imagine the scenes they heard the priest describe, and the heroes of the faith they wished to model themselve on. Windows in our church have been donated to honor and preserve the memory of departed parishioners.
