Welcome,
I teach physics at Truman State University, regularly wander off into strange territories where science and weirdness intersect, and, along with my wife, serve as a slave to two cats.
When first hired, I was asked to provide a brief description of my interests, presumably to show prospective students. With some modifications, it remains a good summary:
B.S., Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, Ph.D., The Johns Hopkins University
Interests: Atmospheric modeling; foundations of statistical mechanics and artificial intelligence; the physics of complex systems; philosophy of science; philosophy of religion; criticism of paranormal and fringe science claims.
Hobbies: Basketball; listening to Renaissance and 20th century music; jigsaw puzzles; bad science fiction; satisfying the whims of cats.
