Why Free Textbooks?
Hello there! I am happy you have come to my website for your physics books. I teach physics at
Truman State University. Over the years the price of textbooks
have gone up and up, and the frivolous new editions are appearing more frequently. The rise
in prices have made it very difficult for our students to afford these books. At the same time
frequent changes in editions have made the life of professors more difficult since every time
there is a change of edition we have to read the problems and make sure our solutions match
with the new numbering of the same old problems - very annoying and unnecessary waste of
professors' times. My books will be free
of charge to you, dear student. Initially I will be posting introductory physics books
which has grown out of my lecture notes. I hope to expand the offerings to more advanced books. So, enjoy!
I will also set-up a website later where you can post suggestions and chat with
other students.
