Course Description
The Sacred Feminine: Goddesses and Mortal Women in Ancient Greece was a three-credit Study Abroad course.  The course traced the feminine origins of several religious sites in the Greek world, and compared and contrasted ancient attitudes to goddesses and mortal women (both historical and literary).  Students focused on understanding sacred sites such as the Athenian Acropolis, the Oracle of Delphi, and Aphrodite's Temple at Corinth within their archaeological, economic, historical, military, and social context, and especially through the lens of gender.

Fourteen students took this course, including two repeaters from past course - not that they flunked, it's just that Greece is addictive!!  We added a Three-Island Tour to Poros, Hydra, and Aegina for our last full day in Greece and enjoyed the miniature Aegean cruise.
