Creating a New Checkin Card
Note that a checkin card can only be created when a checkin
record already exists. Catalogers will create checkin records.
If serials staff should need to create a checkin card where a
checkin record does not yet exist (for example, a second copy
for binding or routing), give to cataloger.
- Select the "Card" tab.
- Choose "Create Card." A "Create Card" dialog box will appear.
- Complete the various fields in the dialog box.
- "Expected date" should be set to today.
- "Cover date" and "Enumeration" reflect the earliest issue
in hand.
- "Unit of binding" defaults to the number of issues in
a volume. Change as appropriate; enter "0" for serials
Truman does not bind.
- Click "Submit."
